First Alliance Staff Participate in Volunteer ‘All for One Day’

ROCHESTER, Minn.– On Monday, Oct. 13, First Alliance Credit Union closed all branch locations to participate in its annual community volunteer event, All for One Day.

“This day of service brings every team member together to show up where members live, give back, and make a meaningful difference across southeastern Minnesota,” the credit union said.

This year, every First Alliance Credit Union employee spent the morning volunteering with the Women’s Shelter & Support Center (WSSC), helping move WSSC staff and operations from their current administrative building into their new administrative facility, which the credit union helped support through earlier grant funding in June of this year. Volunteers will assist with packing and transporting supplies and furniture to help the organization transition smoothly into its new home.

“We are grateful to the First Alliance team for their ongoing support and partnership,” said Jeannie Thompson, director of Programming and Outreach at Women’s Shelter. “Having over 65 volunteers to help us move locations has saved our team an incredible amount of work, so we can stay focused on supporting our clients.”

Along with the WSSC efforts, First Alliance teams also supported Hope Coalition, Family Service Rochester, and the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester in the afternoon, continuing the credit union’s tradition of strengthening the communities where its members live and work.

“All for One Day is about more than volunteering; it’s about presence and partnership,” FACU President and CEO Brent Rempe said in a statement. “By serving side by side at WSSC, we are living our mission and standing with neighbors who need safety, stability, and hope.”

First Alliance’s community give back day is part of a larger statewide credit union initiative called CU Forward Day, coordinated by the Minnesota Credit Union Network.

In 2024, 59 credit unions and more than 2,300 employees volunteered 14,590 hours across Minnesota, reflecting the cooperative spirit that defines the credit union movement.

Since 2015, First Alliance has observed Indigenous Peoples’ Day by closing branches and dedicating the day to community service. The event was named All for One Day in 2018, as a nod to its member-first philosophy: ALL we do is FOR every ONE of our members, the credit union said.
