Mural Now Adorns Side of FTCU’s Entire Branch

GREENVILLE, S.C.–Family Trust Credit Union and the Greenville Center for Creative Arts have unveiled a mural on the side of the CU’s branch on Laurens Road.

The mural is titled “The Threads of Community” and is a visual representation of “where we’ve been and where we’re going, weaving together icons from South Carolina’s history like the Carolina Wren, Reedy River, and a nod to the textile industry that helped shape both Greenville and our hometown of Rock Hill,” the CU said.

At the unveiling of the new mural Family Trust employees added the final brush strokes to the piece.

‘Celebrate the Past While Looking Forward’

“The artists achieved their vision of weaving together elements central to Greenville, Rock Hill and South Carolina,” President and CEO Ryan Harvey said during the event. “We are grateful to be members of the Greenville community as we celebrate its past, while looking forward to its bright future.”

The credit union noted GCCA is a local organization deeply rooted in community and committed to making art more inclusive and accessible. “GCCA’s mission and connection to local artists made them an ideal collaborator,” it added.
