WARWICK, R.I.–The new Greenwood Credit Union City Hall Plaza was unveiled here this week.
Officials said the plaza will be used year-round. It currently features an ice skating rink, but will become a farmer’s market in the summer, roller skating rink and more.
Mayor Frank Picozzi proposed the idea before he was elected, according to WJAR.
“It’s an incredible feeling for me. We’ve done a lot of great things in the city, but this is really special,” Picozzi told the news outlet. “For the first time since I’ve been mayor, I was nervous about it. I’ve never been like that before. Kids are out there skating, everyone’s enjoying it. It’s what I want, I want people in the city to enjoy living here.”
The plaza is set to officially open tomorrow with Winterfest at 9 a.m.
