LAS VEGAS—Venmo has announced a partnership with Bilt in which Bilt members will be able to pay their rent or mortgage using Venmo directly within the Bilt app, in addition to the platform’s existing payment options.
In addition, in doing so users will be able to earn Bilt Rewards points, which can be used on a wide variety of “Neighborhood Perks,” in the process, according to the companies.

The announcement was made during the Money 20/20 Conference in Las Vegs.
“Our partnership with Bilt marks a pivotal first step in our journey to bring everyday commerce directly into the Venmo experience,” Diego Scotti, general manager of the consumer group at Venmo owner PayPal, said in a statement. “Millions of people already use Venmo to split rent with roommates and pay their landlords, now we’re making that experience even more seamless and rewarding…Together, we’re redefining what’s possible when social payments meet everyday life.”
How it Will Work
According to the companies, the collaboration will work this way.
- Launching officially in 2026, Bilt’s five-million-plus members across the country will have the option to use Venmo’s payment capabilities to make rent and mortgage payments.
- Through the partnership, Venmo users will be able to earn Bilt Rewards points that can be redeemed for travel, dining, and purchases at local businesses. Meanwhile, Bilt users will gain the ability to split housing costs with roommates or co-owners seamlessly, while also maintaining an itemized payment record for reference.
Expanded Reach
The partnership also broadens Venmo’s reach, extending its payment capabilities to Bilt’s network of more than 45,000 merchants, the companies said.
“Beyond the convenience of in-app payments and rewards, one standout benefit for renters is the ability to build credit history through the arrangement—a crucial step toward future homeownership,” the companies added.
As the CU Daily reported earlier, the announcement follows Bilt’s recent collaboration with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), the nation’s largest mortgage lender. Also starting in early 2026, UWM mortgage customers—both new and existing—will be able to earn Bilt points for each on-time mortgage payment.
