2 Michigan CUs Say They’ve Completed Merger

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich.–Two Michigan credit unions said they have completed their merger.

The $90.5-million T&I Credit Union has now merged into the $3.89-billion Michigan Schools and Government CU following a vote by T&I members in March.

The credit unions said T&I CU’s employees have joined the 450 members of MSGCU’s staff. The T&I Credit Union branch office located in Clawson, Mich. will become part of MSGCU’s 22-branch network following the integration of systems, which is expected to be complete later this year, the credit unions said.

“We are proud to welcome T&I Credit Union members and team members to MSGCU and look forward to helping our new members achieve financial success,” MSGCU President/CEO Steve Brewer said in a statement “Our team is grateful to T&I Credit Union members for placing their trust in us and we are dedicated to facilitating an easy transition to MSGCU.”

The combined credit union will serve approximately 155,000 members.

‘Closely Aligned’

“T&I Credit Union and MSGCU are closely aligned in our core values and missions of supporting the credit union philosophy of people helping people,” T&I Credit Union CEO Kathy Karner said in a statement. “Merging into MSGCU will ensure T&I Credit Union members continue to receive excellent service and have increased access to convenient service channels.”
