TULLAHOMA, Tenn.– Ascend Federal Credit Union announced that during its inaugural Employee All-In Day, the credit union assembled 20,000 essential supply kits in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
As part of a $100,000 investment, Ascend team members assembled 10,000 hygiene kits and 10,000 food kits to support individuals and families across Rutherford County and surrounding communities. The project was overseen and implemented by Second Harvest to ensure efficient distribution through its established network of partner agencies.

As a partner agency of Second Harvest, The Salvation Army Murfreesboro will receive a portion of the kits for distribution within its community. Additional nonprofit partners benefiting from the project include Stepping Stones Safe Haven and Greenhouse Ministries, along with local law enforcement agencies and schools throughout Rutherford County and neighboring areas.
“Our inaugural All-In Day reflects what Ascend is all about, serving our members and community,” said Ascend President and CEO Matt Jernigan. “By investing $100,000 and coming together as a team to assemble 20,000 essential supply kits, we’re turning our commitment to community into meaningful action. We’re proud to partner with Second Harvest and these outstanding local organizations to help ensure families across Middle Tennessee have access to basic necessities.”
The credit union’s All-In Day initiative is a time for employees to come together to re-focus goals, celebrate accomplishments, and give back to the community. Through strategic partnerships and hands-on service, Ascend continues to support programs that strengthen families and uplift local communities. Ascend, its employees, and its members have proudly participated in food drives and raised money for Second Harvest for over a decade.
“When a team comes together to pack nearly 20,000 food and hygiene kits, it’s more than just an act of service. It’s a powerful reminder that real change happens when a community shows up together,” said Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN President and CEO Nancy Keil. “This was the largest packing event in our organization’s history, and that speaks volumes about Ascend’s heart for our neighbors. Each kit packed during Ascend’s All-In Day represents care, dignity, and hope for a family facing a difficult season. We’re incredibly thankful for Ascend’s partnership and their commitment to showing up for our community in such a meaningful way.”
