BALTIMORE–APG Federal Credit Union said it has completed its first-ever Volunteer Week.
From Feb. 9–13 more than 70 employees participated in hands-on service projects across the five communities APGFCU serves, “positively impacting hundreds of local residents,” the credit union said.
“These volunteer opportunities were selected based on employee feedback, directly reflecting the causes most important to APGFCU’s team members, including food insecurity, homelessness, youth services, and health and wellness,” it said in a statement.
‘Next Level’
“While we support our members and communities every day through financial education, wellness resources and charitable giving, this first-ever Volunteer Week allowed us to take our impact to the next level,” President and CEO Becky Smith said in a statement. “There was nothing more rewarding than being out in the community and seeing firsthand the difference our employees made through their passion for helping their neighbors.”
Activities were spread throughout the credit union’s footprint, with employees engaging in the following hands-on service projects designed to strengthen connections with the communities APGFCU serves, it said.
