Bluestone FCU Opens its First Microbranch

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Bluestone FCU has opened its first microbranch.

The smaller footprint space offers interactive ITMs and lending services.

“The microbranch concept allows us to offer our members the services they want and need closest to home and work,” President Alayna Johnson said in a statement. “When we looked at our members’ locations, we saw an opportunity to offer services closer to our members west of I-29.”

The ITMs provide live, two-way chat that connects members virtually to a representative for support. Two ITMs will be located inside the building with one outdoors for 24-hour access. The branch also will be staffed during business hours for members needing in-person support, according to the $202-million credit union.

‘Cornerstone’ of Service
“While financial transactions are completed through the interactive ATMs, we still want to provide in-person support to our members,” Johnson said. “That person-to-person connection is a cornerstone of the service we provide our members at Bluestone Federal Credit Union.”

BFCU has about 12,000 members.
