NCUA Announces New Date for Public Hearing on Staff Draft Budget for 2026-27


ALEXANDRIA, Va.– NCUA has announced a new date for its public hearing on the staff draft budget for 2026-2027, which will now be held Nov. 5 at 1:00 p.m. ET at its headquarters in Virginia. It has also extended the deadline for written comments.

The agency had previously announced it would hold the hearing Nov. 6.

As the CU Daily had previously reported,  NCUA published the 2026–2027 staff draft budget in the Federal Register on Sept. 29, 2025. The deadline for written comments on the staff draft budget has been extended until Nov. 7.

NCUA said the proposed budget can be found on the Budget and Supplementary Materials page on its website. 

The public budget hearing will be live streamed on NCUA’s webpage on Nov. 5.

How to In-Person Appearance

To appear in person at the public hearing on November 5, 2025, NCUA said:

  • Interested parties must email their request to [email protected] by October 30, 2025. The email must include the requestor’s name, title, affiliation, mailing address, email address, and telephone number.
  • The email must clarify if the individual wishes to attend or if the individual wishes to attend and present. 
  • The agency said its board secretary will inform presenters on Oct. 31, 2025, if they have been approved to make a presentation.
  • In order to appear at the public hearing, approved presenters must submit their statement in advance. Statements must be submitted to [email protected] by 1:00 p.m. Eastern on November 3, 2025.

Presenters will be allotted five minutes during the budget hearing to deliver their remarks.  

Written Comments

To provide written comments about the proposed budget NCUA said comments should be submitted on Docket # NCUA-2025-0543 at the Federal eRulemaking Portal by Nov. 7.
