CHROME FCU Selects Former Employee, Board Member as New CEO

CANONSBURG, Penn.CHROME Federal Credit Union has named a new president and CEO to succeed Robert Flanyak, who is set to retire in April after leading CFCU for 10 years.

The $218-million Chrome Federal said it has selected Broc Sleek to lead the organization.

Broc Sleek

Sleek brings more than a decade of connection to CHROME. Initially joining the credit union in 2015 as vice president and chief digital officer, “he was instrumental in supporting CHROME’s rebrand and digital transformation,” the credit union said. “In modernizing the digital banking experience and building crucial data and insight capabilities, his guidance strengthened the credit union’s member-focused service standards, which they are known for today. For the past eight years, he has served as a volunteer member of CHROME’s board, contributing to the organization’s strategic planning, digital transformation, and member growth.”

Sleek returns to CHROME from his role as SVP-lending operations at LendKey, a national fintech serving more than 300 credit unions.

‘Purpose-Driven Leader’

“There, he led a team of over 70 employees and helped scale annual loan originations to more than $1 billion while driving improvements in operations, service quality, and the overall customer experience,” CHROME FCU said. “His earlier leadership roles in consumer finance and mission-driven fintech established him as a purpose-driven leader known for building high-performing teams and driving results through innovation, data, and empathy.”

Sleek holds an MBA from Salisbury University, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, and a certificate in financial crimes investigation from Utica College.

‘Genuinely Cares’

“I’m eager to lead a team that genuinely cares about our members and shows up every day to deliver the financial solutions and exceptional service they deserve,” Sleek said in a statement. “I believe CHROME is one of the best-kept secrets in the Pittsburgh area. We offer the full capabilities of much larger institutions paired with a personal touch and commitment to member success that big banks simply cannot match. Looking ahead, we have a tremendous opportunity to share that story more widely, deepen our relationships with current members, and invite their families, friends, and neighbors to experience what makes CHROME shine.”
