RCU Foundation Names Jennifer McHugh as Executive Director

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The RCU Foundation (Foundation) has named Jennifer McHugh executive director. In her new role, McHugh will serve as the Foundation’s chief executive, responsible for strategy, grantmaking, programming, governance, and operations. She reports to the RCU Foundation board and will serve as the board’s primary liaison.

“The Foundation Board is confident that Jennifer’s leadership will help us continue to build strong, trusted relationships with our donors, grant applicants, funding recipients, and community partners,” said John Sackett, RCU Foundation president, in a statement. “We are excited to partner with her to continue making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”

McHugh joined Royal Credit Union in 2011 and has served as the credit union’s VP–community engagement since 2020. She will continue in this role while assuming her new responsibilities as Executive Director of the RCU Foundation.

“It is an honor to serve as the RCU Foundation’s first Executive Director,” said McHugh. “Since it was established in 2012, the Foundation has awarded over $12 million in grants to fund meaningful capital projects. I look forward to working closely with the Board to continue supporting area non-profit organizations that focus efforts in the areas of education, health and the arts.”

McHugh is a credit union development educator (CUDE) and was selected as the 2021 CUES Exceptional Leader. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University and holds a master’s degree in strategic communication and innovation from Texas Tech University.
