U.S. Eagle FCU & Its Foundation Raise Funds, Gather Food for Several Charities

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union and its 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable foundation have announced the results of its donation-matching program to help New Mexicans in need of food assistance throughout the state.

The credit union and its foundation matched donations received online and at its branches between November 18, 2025 and December 31, 2025 donating a total of $7,500. The amount was split evenly between Rio Grande Food Project based in Albuquerque, Santa Fe’s The Food Depot, and Economic Council Helping Others (ECHO) Inc. of New Mexico in Farmington.

Each nonprofit received $2,500 to help members of their community facing food insecurity.

“At U.S. Eagle, we believe that people mean more,” said Michael Moore, president and CEO of U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members and community, we were able to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger across our state. This achievement reflects our commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.”

The donation allowed The Food Depot to provide 10,000 meals for the hungry. “We are grateful to U.S. Eagle for stepping up during a time of uncertainty for so many families,” said Jill Dixon,

executive director of The Food Depot. “Their matching gift and statewide support of food banks shows a strong commitment to New Mexico communities.”

“U.S. Eagle has been a key partner with Rio Grande Food Project for more than two decades in our work to address long-term food security through food distribution and financial literacy.

Most recently, its Help Fill Empty Plates initiative raised $2,500 for our food assistance programming, and is a powerful example of how local partnerships can create real, immediate impact,” said Ari Herring, executive director of Rio Grande Food Project. The funds raised from the matching program will help 213 individuals receive emergency food assistance.

The $2,500 donation to ECHO provided 1,500 meals to help feed people with food insecurities in the Farmington area. “Thank you, U.S. Eagle, for the generous donation to assist ECHO with empowering our communities to thrive in San Juan County,” said Laura Watson, executive director of ECHO.
