LONDON — Visa said it has partnered with TikTok to launch a debit card aimed at content creators in the United Kingdom, as part of an effort to address cash flow and financial management challenges in the growing creator economy.
The companies said statement that the new “Creator Card,” which Visa described as the first of its kind, is designed to give creators access to financial tools to better manage and expand their businesses.

According to Visa, many creators who earn income through TikTok LIVE currently rely on personal bank accounts to manage their finances, blurring the line between business and personal spending.
What Research Reveals
Visa said its research across multiple social media platforms found that 86% of creator-run businesses are self-funded, while 49% report experiencing late payments, underscoring ongoing cash flow challenges within the sector.
The Creator Card is intended to help address those issues by enabling users to separate business and personal finances, Visa said.
During TikTok LIVE broadcasts, creators receive virtual gifts from viewers that can be converted into real income. However, Visa noted that this income tends to arrive irregularly, rather than as a steady monthly salary.
Income in ‘Bursts’
“This income typically arrives in bursts, rather than on a regular monthly salary, meaning short delays between earnings settling in their account which can make it harder to cover everyday costs or reinvest in their business,” Visa said in a statement.
