‘Filled With Joy’

“My heart is filled with the joy of remembering the many friends and family who attended my retirement reception,” said Tucker in a statement. “It was truly wonderful to see the faces of those who mean so much to me. I want to express my gratitude to the members, volunteers, and staff of WV Central for making the evening so special.”

According to the News & Sentinel, following the reception, the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and the West Virginia Credit Union League Designated Fund received $7,500 and $2,500 in check presentations, respectively. Tucker started in the credit union industry in 1983 at the West Virginia Credit Union League. From there, he was promoted to vice president for education and training, then moved on as head of the local Bureau of the Public Debt Credit Union, the organization said in a statement.

Active at WV League

Tucker became the CEO of WVCFCU in 1994.

“Mike’s impact has reached well beyond his work at Central. He has been very active in the Parkersburg Chapter of Credit Unions and for over 25 years has represented the chapter on the board of the (West Virginia) Credit Union League,” Board Treasurer Ken Watts said in a statement. “He has served in all leadership positions within the league, including chairman on several occasions.”

During his time at WVCFCU, Tucker oversaw growth to 24,000 members from 3,000 and assets to $336 million from $15 million.

“I am proud to see Cindy Turner move into the CEO role, as she will excel,” Tucker said in a statement.
