Greenville FCU Unveils Plans for New Administrative Building as it Surpasses Assets Milestone

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Greenville Federal Credit Union is expanding its Wade Hampton campus with a new $9.5 million administrative building following a year in which the institution surpassed $500 million in assets and grew its membership to more than 35,500, according to reporting by Greenville Business Magazine.

The $510-million credit union plans to clear the lot adjacent to its Wade Hampton Boulevard branch to construct a three-story, 12,000-square-foot administrative building that will include offices, conference rooms and collaborative meeting spaces.

According to Greenville Business Magazine, the building will accommodate more than 30 employees from multiple departments.

Second Construction Initiative

The project marks the second major construction initiative Greenville Federal Credit Union will undertake in 2026. The credit union’s new Berea branch is scheduled to open in early 2027. Creative Builders Inc. is serving as the developer for both projects, while SHLTR is the project’s architect, the publication reported.

Greenville Business Magazine said the expansion follows two significant milestones reached by the credit union in 2025.

The institution said it now serves more than 35,500 members throughout Greenville County, prompting an increase in staffing to support continued member service.

Thank You to Members

“Everything we do is only possible because of our members and our dedicated staff,” President and CEO Paul Hughes told Greenville Business Magazine. “Without them, none of this would even be feasible. The credit union’s strong and steady growth over nearly 60 years has fueled this need for an expanded space. With over 105 employees all based in Greenville, we needed to find space that would prioritize the efficiency and collaboration of our growing workforce.”

Groundbreaking on the administrative building is expected later this summer, with completion anticipated by mid-2027, according to Greenville Business Magazine.
