TUCSON, Ariz. — Idaho Central Credit Union has acquired naming rights to a major sports and entertainment development under construction in Tucson, giving the Idaho-based credit union a prominent branding presence in a market it entered through a credit union merger last year.
The Mosaic Quarter complex will be renamed ICCU Mosaic Quarter under an agreement announced Sept. 1 by Mosaic Quarter, according to a memorandum from Pima County Administrator Jan Lesher to the Pima County Board of Supervisors.
Financial terms and the length of the naming-rights agreement were not disclosed in the county’s announcement.
Under the agreement, the development’s MQ Iceplex will become the ICCU Iceplex, while the MQ Field House will be renamed the ICCU Field House, Pima County said.
First Phase Scheduled to Open in 2027
Mosaic Quarter is a public-private partnership between Pima County and Mosaic Quarter Development and is being developed as a sports and entertainment destination in Southern Arizona.
The development is planned to include ice rinks, indoor courts, athletic fields, restaurants and other gathering and entertainment spaces, according to Mosaic Quarter.
Phase I, which includes the Iceplex and Field House, is scheduled to open in 2027, according to Pima County.
The partnership with the $15.5-billion, Chubbuck, Idaho-based Idaho Central also will include the ICCU-MQ Community Cares Festival, an annual weekend of sports and entertainment programming scheduled each spring, the county said.
Pima County said the naming-rights partnership is intended to expand the development’s emphasis on families and the community.
ICCU Entered Tucson Market Through Merger
The agreement comes less than two years after Idaho Central Credit Union entered the Tucson market.
The Chubbuck, Idaho-based credit union expanded into Arizona in February 2025 through its merger with Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union, which had approximately 17,000 members and two Tucson branches.
Pima County said ICCU continues to operate two local branches and is exploring opportunities for additional locations throughout the Tucson area.
The naming-rights agreement gives ICCU significantly greater visibility in Southern Arizona as the credit union works to establish its brand following the merger.
Mosaic Quarter is being developed as part of the Kino South Sports and Entertainment Complex. Pima County’s financial statements describe the project as a public-private partnership under which Mosaic Quarter Development operates the complex as a public recreational facility.
Construction-related activity on the site was continuing this summer, with Tucson city records showing infrastructure work associated with the Mosaic Quarter project, including water-line connections and work related to a future traffic-controlled intersection at Kino Parkway.
