ACU said Long has extensive experience utilizing economic data and research to advocate on behalf of the credit union industry, including with the Federal Reserve system, NCUA, and Congress.

The trade group said the chief economist role oversees the economics department at the organization and acts as lead spokesperson and lead data analyst.

‘Cutting Edge Research’

“We are proud to announce Curt as our chief economist and vice president of data and research. Curt has provided cutting edge industry research and has served as an excellent advocate for the credit union industry for over a decade,” President and CEO Jim Nussle said in a statement. “He has proved himself as a true innovator as an economist and will be a critical partner in the future of our industry.”

Long joined NAFCU in 2010 and was named director of research and chief economist in 2014. During his time with the national credit union trade association, Long has acted as a great representative of credit unions, personally giving budget testimony to the NCUA over the past six years, meeting with the Federal Reserve Board nine times, and has held 11 meetings with regional Federal banks, ACU said.

It serves individuals who live, work, attend school, or worship in several counties across Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, DCUC said

“We are very excited to welcome Collins Community Credit Union to DCUC’s membership.
