Branch of Connexus CU Re-Opens Following Bomb Threat

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis.− A branch of Connexus Credit Union last week had to be evacuated after a bomb threat forced its closure.

Neighboring businesses were also evacuated.

Wisconsin Rapids Police Chief Daniel Hostens told the Daily Tribune that the threat was probably unfounded but the department always takes these types of threats seriously. They branch was closed out of an “abundance of caution,” he said.

The Police Department first posted on its Facebook page about the threat and asked people to avoid the area.

A bomb-sniffing dog was dispatched to the scene before the branch was cleared, according to the Daily Tribune.
