LA CROSSE, Wis.–Marine Credit Union (MCU) said it has entered into a new partnership with Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta, the 2024 Roberto Clemente Award nominee for the Brewers and a “standout both on and off the field.”
“United by a shared commitment to community impact, this partnership will bring Peralta together with MCU for a series of events focused on financial education, community support, and giving back—core values both Freddy and MCU champion,” the credit union said in a statement.

“Freddy’s passion for community and service aligns perfectly with our mission to advance lives,” MCU Director of Marketing Chris Becker said in a statement. “He’s not only a phenomenal athlete—he’s a role model. We’re excited to work together to amplify the work happening in our communities and inspire others to get involved.”
‘Unforgettable Debut’
The credit union noted Peralta made an “unforgettable debut” for the Brewers in 2018, recording 13 strikeouts over 5 2/3 shutout innings, setting the franchise record for a first-time starter.
As part of the partnership with MCU, Peralta will make appearances at two community-focused events in 2025:
- July 10: Racine Community Celebration
at MCU’s Racine Financial Empowerment Center - Sept. 2: Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build
at MCU’s Milwaukee Financial Empowerment Center
“At both events, Freddy will engage with community members alongside MCU team members to help spread awareness about the importance of financial empowerment, family support and access to resources,” the credit union added.
A Priority for Giving Back
According to Marine Credit Union, Peralta, a native of the Dominican Republic, has long prioritized giving back to the communities that shaped him and supported his success.
“His contributions earned him his team’s Roberto Clemente Award and widespread respect across the league,” MCU said. “Marine Credit Union shares this commitment through volunteerism, financial literacy programs and inclusive lending options such as ITIN loans for individuals without a Social Security number.”
