SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Limestone FCU said it has partnered with FHLBank Indianapolis to launch a Money Masters Scholarship Program for first-generation college freshman students at Lake Superior State University (LSSU).

Through the program, participants can earn a $1,000 scholarship while building essential money management skills and opening a credit union account, the credit union said.
“Through this partnership, students gain more than just a scholarship—they participate in guided financial education, build critical money management skills through the Adulting 101 course, and attend the Career Pathways & Networking Event,” Limestone FCU said in a statement. “This program is designed to support long-term success and introduce future career opportunities. By combining scholarship funding with hands-on learning, the program empowers students to build a strong financial foundation for the future.”
The Requirements
According to Limestone FCU, the requirements for the Money Masters Scholarship Program include:
- Be or become a member of Limestone Financial Credit Union – The Hub @ LSSU, The On-Campus Credit Union.
- Be a first-generation college freshman student.
- Attend Adulting 101 – a four-part financial literacy series (one hour each, with multiple class times available to fit the students schedule).
- Attend the Career Pathways & Networking Event.
- Attend a mandatory 20-minute introduction meeting. Students can choose one of the following sessions:
