NEW HAVEN, Conn.–Healthcare Financial Credit Union has received state regulatory approval to change its name.
The $64-million credit union is now Unity Financial Credit Union, according to the Department of Banking.

According to its website, Healthcare Financial Credit Union was founded in 1950 as the Grace New Haven Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union to serve hospital workers. Later, it became the Yale New Haven Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union, and then the Yale New Haven Healthcare Federal Credit Union.
Branch Locations
It has locations at Yale New Haven Hospital (20 York St.), Bridgeport Hospital (267 Grant St.) and on Long Wharf Drive and Chapel Street in New Haven.
The credit union has approximately 9,500 members.
