WASHINGTON– The CDFI Fund has announced plans to launch a new version of its CDFI Information Mapping System (CIMS), a web-based tool that enables organizations to visually plot eligible service areas and investments in support of their Certification or funding applications.

The new version, CIMS5, will replace the existing version CIMS4, which will be retired and no longer supported, according to the CDFI Fund.
“CIMS5 will be accessible through the Awards Management Information System (AMIS) and will be available beginning Oct. 6, 2025,” the CDFI Fund said on its website. “Users will benefit from an enhanced look and feel, better navigation, and seamless integration with AMIS functionality. While the new system will remain functionally equivalent to its predecessor, it introduces a more intuitive user experience and modernized interface.”
New & Improved
According to the CDFI Fund, new and improved features of CIMS5 will include:
- A refreshed user interface for easier navigation and enhanced accessibility
- Integration directly within AMIS, streamlining user access
- Improved system performance and reliability
- Updated system support resources for users at every level.
Important Transition Details
The CDFI Fund reminded that as of Oct. 6, CIMS4 will be retired. Going forward, access to CIMS5 will be available only through AMIS. All maps saved in CIMS4 prior to launching the new version will be available in the new version.
