EAGAN, Minn.–Credit unions that furnish data to the credit reporting agencies using the e-OSCAR system are being urged to review their records for any inaccuracies caused by a June 13 nightly batch process glitch, according to the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals.
The glitch specifically affected Automated Credit Dispute Verification (ACDV) Response records transmitted to TransUnion, according to the organization.

The organization cited an email sent by e-OSCAR to its users that stated there was an experienced an unplanned outage during its nightly batch process, causing certain ACDV Response records to be omitted from the file sent to TransUnion.
“Consequently, some ACDV Response records were not transmitted to TransUnion, and those records were marked as DNR [Did Not Respond],” Joel Strickland, director of client relations at e-OSCAR, wrote in an email to users on Aug. 8.
Dispute Notifications Received
The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals said many affected furnishers have already started receiving Dispute Response Notifications referencing the DNR-coded records, as stated in the e-OSCAR alert.

In his email Strickland noted that enhancements have been made to the system’s reporting and validation processes to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
