ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The United States Senate Federal Credit Union has been named a 2025 Broadcom Customer Achievement Award winner, earning recognition in two categories: Americas Achiever of the Year and AI Innovator.
The announcement was made at VMware Explore 2025, which honored organizations using VMware solutions to deliver innovation, operational excellence and measurable business outcomes.

USSFCU’s recognition highlights its modernization of IT infrastructure, use of AI-driven solutions and efforts to improve member experiences. Leveraging VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA, the credit union deployed a secure private AI environment in less than 48 hours, allowing employees to improve operational efficiency and deliver personalized financial services without compromising data privacy.
“With VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA, we’ve built a secure, private cloud environment that allows us to quickly and efficiently implement AI technologies—whether it’s powering knowledge-based chatbots assisting staff or innovating new ways to deliver financial answers directly to our members across multiple devices,” said CIO Mark Fournier.
Since implementation, USSFCU has launched several AI-powered projects, including a chatbot designed to assist both employees and members. More than half of staff now actively use the tool to streamline tasks, access information securely and deliver faster, personalized service.
The credit union’s adoption of VMware vSAN Express Storage Architecture also reduced total cost of ownership by 23%, while ensuring performance to support AI workloads and digital services.
“Our members are our priority, and AI is enabling us to push toward personalized, real-time financial solutions,” Fournier said. “AI in banking allows us to automate everyday transactions, streamline loan processing, and proactively identify member needs—ensuring our services are both intuitive and secure.”
USSFCU said its modernized cloud environment has enhanced operational agility, strengthened data security, improved digital banking experiences and positioned the institution for growth.
