Affinity 101: Listerhill CU Launches Credit, Debit Cards in Conjunction with University

FLORENCE, Ala.–Listerhill Credit Union has launched branded Signature and Platinum credit and debit cards in conjunction with the  University of North Alabama

The credit union said the multi-year collaboration enhances its ongoing commitment to providing financial wellness and valuable services to the UNA community, including students, athletes, faculty, alumni and employees.

The cards are now available via Listerhill’s dedicated landing page for the Keystone cards, as well as in-branch.

“We’re proud to offer these UNA-branded cards as part of our continued effort to support the University community,” President and CEO Brad Green said in a statement. “The financial well-being of UNA students, alumni, faculty, and the local community remains our top priority, and these new cards represent an exciting step forward in our partnership.”

Partnership Since 2010

Listerhill and UNA have had a partnership in place since 2010 that also includes sponsorship of UNA Lions Athletics and “tailored financial wellness efforts for the unique needs of the university community.”

In 2010, Listerhill provided a $625,000 gift to the University toward the construction of the Wendell W. Gunn University Commons, which currently houses Listerhill’s Financial Education Resource Center as well as a Smart ATM for member account access. Three years later, Listerhill partnered with UNA on its student access card, The Mane Card. In 2017, Listerhill continued its partnership with UNA by providing The One Card, which it said combined student access cards with a debit card for everyday purchases.

Tens of Thousands of Dollars in Donations

Since 2020, Listerhill has partnered with UNA through the Keystone Debit card, a program that has “contributed tens of thousands of dollars to multiple university initiatives.” The new Keystone Signature card offering will give users 2% cash back on every purchase while both the Keystone Signature and Platinum cards will offer some of the most competitive rates in the area, the credit union said.

The credit union further noted that the Platinum card is even available as a secured card, meaning applicants can deposit funds into a secured account to open the card, for those looking to establish or rebuild credit.
