Affinity FCU’s 2025 Class of Certified Wellbeing Coaches Has Graduated

BASKING RIDGE, N.J.–Affinity Federal Credit Union has announced the graduation of its 2025 class of Certified Wellbeing Coaches.

The program, now in its third year, is a “cornerstone of Affinity’s commitment to the financial wellbeing of its members and employees,” the $4.3-billion CU said.

The 2025 cohort included 30 graduates representing a variety of departments across the organization, including retail branches, digital branch, Member Solution Hub, consumer lending, and sales management & effectiveness, according to Affinity.

The credit union said its Certified Wellbeing Coaches are available by appointment to help members with essential financial skills including budgeting, goal setting, credit, and identity theft.

The FAQs

“The training was designed based on the most asked questions and needs of Affinity members to provide real-time advice in-person at branches or virtually though the digital branch,” Affinity Federal explained.

AFCU explained that the eight-month program ran from March through October, with the first seven months focused on learning about how to provide members with the best possible support in managing their personal finances and overcoming financial challenges, while the final month allowed participants to demonstrate their knowledge by creating and presenting on assigned topics.

Collaboration Encouraged

“This approach encouraged collaboration across departments and reinforced the practical application of key wellbeing principles,” Affinity Federal said. “To deepen the learning experience, this year’s program introduced a new segment on empathy, designed to help participants connect more meaningfully with both the course content and members. The empathy-focused kickoff session and related role-play exercises helped employees enhance their ability to relate to and support members during the empathy map segment of each session.”

Eight Standout Participants

Affinity also recognized eight standout participants as MVPs for their exceptional performance and dedication: Enoc Nunez, Eugenia Ricker, Joseph Calabrese, Yeuris Ortiz, Hugo Ramirez, Kenia Arce-Simmons, Rocio Gonzalez, and Rosemond Joseph.

Since the program’s inception, Affinity FCU said 107 employees have successfully graduated between 2023 and 2025. To date, Coaches have scheduled hundreds of meetings with members and actively contributed to the financial wellbeing of Affinity members, it added.

‘Stronger & More Meaningful’

“Each year, our Wellbeing Coach program grows stronger and continues to make a meaningful impact within Affinity,” President and CEO Kevin Brauer said in a statement. “We are proud of all of our 2025 graduates for their commitment to helping members and colleagues thrive – financially and personally.”
