Arrest Made in Murder of Husband of CU Lending Officer

SAN JUAN, P.R. — An arrest has been made in Puerto Rico in the murder of Noah Amerson, the husband of Latonya Allen-Amerson, the chief lending officer with Government Printing Office FCU.

According to police, they have arrested 24-year-old Elias Perez Cruz and charged him with first-degree murder. Police have also alleged that after the killing, Cruz assaulted another man and stripped him of his clothes.

Amerson was shot and killed on June 19 after a robbery at an Airbnb property near San Juan. According to authorities, Cruz was armed with a gun when he shot and killed Amerson in front of his family before fleeing the scene with Amerson’s clothing, cash and a pair of sneakers.

Cruz is being held on $2.75 million secured bond and is currently in custody.

Amerson is the brother of former NFL player David Amerson.
