MELBOURNE, Fla.–As it marks 75 years of service, Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) has launched Partners in Purpose, a formalized corporate social opportunity (CSO) program designed to guide its community impact for years to come, according to credit union.
The credit union said the program reflects its enduring commitment to service, stewardship and strengthening the communities it proudly serves.

“Giving back has always been part of SCCU’s DNA for 75 years,” President and CEO Shane Hoyle said in a statement. “Partners in Purpose allows us to be more intentional—bringing focus and consistency to our efforts so we can turn our values into action day after day, year after year. This program ensures our commitment to community is embedded in how we serve, creating meaningful impact across our entire footprint not just today, but for generations to come.”
Long History of Giving Back
SCCU said it has a long history of giving back and standing alongside the communities it serves.
“Partners in Purpose builds on that legacy by bringing greater focus and structure to how the credit union gives back, ensuring its efforts create the greatest possible impact across all communities it serves,” Space Coast CU said. “Designed to live in perpetuity, the program aligns SCCU’s volunteerism, corporate giving and nonprofit partnerships under a unified framework, anchored by three pillars of support—Prosper, Protect and Preserve—and aligning with eight nonprofit organizations.”
The Focus
Through Partners in Purpose, SCCU said it will focus its community efforts across three core areas:
- Prosper: Education & Financial Wellness. Supporting youth education, financial literacy and workforce readiness, including expanded partnerships with four Junior Achievement chapters throughout Florida and SCCU’s footprint, as well as initiatives that uplift educators and classrooms.
- Protect: Military & Emergency Response. Honoring SCCU’s deep military roots by supporting service members, veterans and disaster response efforts, including ongoing collaboration with the American Red Cross of Central and South Florida.
- Preserve: Coastline & Habitat Stewardship. As a Florida-grown company, SCCU will be protecting the state’s natural environment through partnerships focused on coastal restoration, wildlife protection and habitat conservation by working with the East Coast Zoological Foundation and Adopt a Dune.
75 Acts of Purpose
To commemorate its 75th anniversary, SCCU said it is also launching 75 Acts of Purpose, a year-long campaign aimed at delivering 75 meaningful acts of service and support to local communities.
“The campaign celebrates SCCU’s milestone anniversary while amplifying the broader mission of Partners in Purpose. While Partners in Purpose will help drive many of these acts, the anniversary campaign represents just one chapter in SCCU’s ongoing commitment to community impact,” the credit union said.
