VIENNA, Va.–Carrie Hunt, who exited America’s Credit Unions earlier this year, has been named SVP-advocacy and strategic partnerships with Navy Federal Credit Union.
“I look forward to working under the leadership of Keith Hoskins, and with Stephanie Sykes,Olivia Zimmerman Miller, Pamela Perry and our entire teams as we support our members through advocacy, community initiatives, financial opportunity and other mission-driven work,” Hunt said in a statement on LinkedIn.

Prior to stepping down from America’s Credit Unions, Hunt served as chief advocacy officer. She had been a spokesperson for the trade group on numerous issues and often led the weekly call with the media.
Hunt departed ACU after Scott Simpson was named as its new CEO.
Earlier Positions
Prior to joining America’s Credit Unions, Hunt was president of the Virginia Credit Union League, which she led from 2021-2024. The VCUL is now part of the League of Southern Credit Unions.
Prior to joining the Virginia Credit Union League in 2021, Hunt served as executive vice president of government affairs and general counsel for the National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU), where she oversaw the association’s legislative, political, regulatory, compliance and research divisions.
She was named to The Hill newspaper’s top Washington lobbyist lists in 2019 and 2020.
Before joining NAFCU, Hunt worked as the legal counsel to Massachusetts state Sen. Andrea Nuciforo, Jr., Senate Chairman of the Joint Committee on Banks and Banking. Hunt also worked as a law clerk.
