FALMOUTH, Maine–Cumberland County FCU has announced the retirement of longtime President and Scott Harriman, who will step down at the end of 2026 after what it said has been an “extraordinary 36-year career.”
The board of the $479-million CCFCU has named current CFO Ryan Grund as the next president, effective July 1, 2026.
“During his tenure, Scott Harriman guided the credit union through decades of growth, transformation, and innovation,” the credit union said in a statement. “Under his leadership, CCFCU expanded its membership, strengthened its financial position, and enhanced member services through major technological and operational advancements.”
Overseen 53x Asset Growth
Harriman was named president and CEO in 1990, and during his tenure has:
- Seen expansion to five branches from one
- Grown assets to nearly $480 million from $9 million
- Overseen membership growth to more than 22,000 from 3,600 to over 22,000 members.
- Overseen an FOM expansion to nine counties from two, including Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Kennebec, Lincoln, Oxford, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and York.

“It has been an honor to serve this credit union and our members,” said Harriman in a statement. “I am deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I have every confidence that Ryan Grund will continue moving the organization forward with the same commitment to service and integrity.”
‘Extensive Experience’
Grund, who has served as CFO since 2013, has extensive experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and organizational development, Cumberland County FCU said, adding that throughout his tenure, he has been instrumental in guiding the credit union’s financial strategy, risk management, and long-term sustainability.
“I am grateful to the board for their trust and honored to lead Cumberland County FCU into its next chapter,” Grund said in a statement. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Scott Harriman has created and continuing to serve our members, employees, and community.”

Harriman will assist with the transition over the coming months to ensure continuity and support the organization during the leadership change.
