Curql Places Capital Through GreenState CU, Veridian CU Using ModernFI Platform

DES MOINES, Iowa–Curql, the fund through which credit unions invest together in fintech, is reporting it has placed capital through GreenState CU and Veridian Credit Union using ModernFi CUSO’s reciprocal deposit platform.

“This directly supports Curql’s goal: investing in fintech that returns real benefits to credit unions and their members,” the company said in a statement.

According to Curql, ModernFi CUSO, the first company backed by Curql Fund II, enables credit unions to further attract and retain large-value members such as businesses and municipalities, reduce reliance on rate, and support long-term member relationships—critical functionality in today’s dynamic rate and liquidity environment.

A ’Proof Point’

“This is a proof point,” Curql Collective CEO Nick Evens said in a statement. “We don’t just invest in fintech—our credit unions use it. By placing capital through Veridian and GreenState using ModernFi CUSO, we’re putting our money where our mission is: supporting credit unions through real, usable innovation.”

Added Craig Ibsen, managing partner of Curql Fund, in a statement, “Curql Fund II exists to strategically deploy credit union capital into fintech that delivers measurable value. ModernFi CUSO is a great example—designed for the industry, backed by the industry, and now actively used within it to manage real dollars.”
