Ellafi FCU Launches ‘Ellafi Kind’ to Support Local Nonprofits that Work to Help Women

MIDDLETOWN, Conn.–Ellafi Federal Credit Union has launched “Ellafi Kind,” which it said is a charitable arm created to support local nonprofits and initiatives that “make a positive impact” in its communities.

The $175.3-million Ellafi, which says its mission is to “Empower and Lead women+ with the goal to Lift economic resilience and help women, and their allies, Achieve Financial Independence” (thus, its name)  said Ellafi Kind will further its mission to promote financial equity, entrepreneurship, and economic stability for women—especially those in underserved communities.

“Community collaboration is at the heart of Ellafi Kind,” Co-Acitn CEO and Board Chair Robyn Swanson said in a statement. “By partnering with trusted organizations, we ensure our programs are impactful, culturally relevant, and tailored to real needs.”

The Focus

According to the credit union, Ellafi Kind will focus on programs that address the unique financial challenges women face, offering financial literacy education, business mentorship, emergency aid, and community partnerships that foster resilience, independence, and long-term financial health.

The credit union noted that last month Ellafi Kind hosted the Ellafi Kind Giveaway, in which it invited members to nominate local nonprofits doing impactful work for women and families. Winners are being announced weekly throughout October, “highlighting grassroots organizations that embody kindness, resilience, and community spirit. This initiative reflects Ellafi’s belief that small acts of support can lead to meaningful, lasting change,” the credit union said.
