First Community CU Buys 20-Story Office Tower to Become New HQ

TOMBALL, Texas — First Community Credit Union has bought a 20-story office tower in northwest Houston to serve as its new headquarters.

The $3-billion First Community bought the former Noble Energy Center Two, 470,623-rentable-square-foot building in the Vintage Park/Tomball area less than three years after it last traded hands, according to the Houston Business Journal.

FCCU is currently based at 15260 FM 529, about 12 miles away near Highway 6 in northwest Houston.

The price of the acquisition, which closed Feb. 27, was not disclosed.

Located in the heart of Northwest Houston, one of the region’s most vibrant corridors for business and population growth, the new headquarters represents FCCU’s long term commitment to expanding its footprint and deepening service in the communities it serves, the Journal said.

‘World Class Facility’

“This investment in a world class facility positions First Community Credit Union for decades of innovation, growth, and exceptional service,” FCCU President and CEO TJ Tijerina told the Business Journal. “As Northwest Houston continues to thrive, our new headquarters will allow us to grow right alongside it, supporting our members, strengthening our workforce, and elevating the experience we deliver every single day. I can’t wait to see the FCCU star shining on this building.”

According to the credit union, the expanded headquarters will provide the space and infrastructure needed to enhance collaboration, develop talent, and deliver an elevated experience for its more than 180,000 members.

Phased Transition

FCCU said it will begin planning for a phased transition to occupy up to 50% of the facility as it designs a headquarters environment that reflects the organization’s culture, values, and service standards. The remainder of the building will be available for lease to third party tenants.
