SAN JOSE, Calif.–First Tech Federal Credit Union sponsored the inaugural THORNovation Invitational event—an interactive robotics and design showcase celebrating youth creativity, innovation, and teamwork across the Portland Metro area.
In partnership with Portland Thorns FC, Portland State University’s Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science (MCECS), and the Portland Metro STEM Partnership, the event welcomed over 200 attendees, including 12 robotics teams representing 71 students from Reynolds MESA, Project LEDO, BB2S, Chicas, and the Iraqi Arabic School.
“Furthering the credit union’s commitment to STEM education by connecting the excitement of sport with hands-on STEM opportunities for youth through its First Tech Beyond™ program, THORNovation offered elementary through high school students a chance to show off their robotics, engineering and design projects from the past year,” the credit union said.
