SAN ANTONIO–Firstmark Credit Union partnered with The Lonnie Walker IV Foundation and HUB Investment Partners (HUB) to give away free holiday turkeys, goodie bags, and more to 1,000 educators at their sixth annual Turkeys for Teachers event.
“With cars making their way through different giveaway stations, educators and their families got to enjoy live performances from local school bands, mascots from local spots such as Las Palapas and KSAT-12, and tons of volunteers showing them appreciation for all they do,” the credit union said.
The turkeys were provided by Firstmark, The Lonnie Walker IV Foundation handed out all the side dishes, and there were countless donations made by neighborhood organizations, FirstMark CU stated.

“As a credit union founded by teachers, we are continuously looking for ways to support our education community, and having this event for educators is our way of showing gratitude for their dedication and hard work,” Marisa Pérez-Díaz, executive director of the Firstmark Foundation, said in a statement. “We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped contribute this year and in past Turkeys for Teachers events—seeing the community come together is truly inspiring. The commitment teachers display on a day-to-day basis to help students succeed knows no bounds, and we hope this special giveback makes them feel appreciated.”
