Following Gift, University of Northwestern Naming Business School for Blaze CU CEO Dan Stoltz

ST. PAUL, Minn.– As part of what the University of Northwestern called the largest single philanthropic commitment in the institution’s 124-year history, UNW will name its business school in recognition of alumni Dan and Robin Stoltz. Dan Stoltz is the CEO of the $4.6-billion Blaze Credit Unionin Falcon Heights, Minn.

University of Northwestern – St. Paul (UNW) is a nondenominational, Christian university that said a Biblical worldview is integrated into all of its programs.

Inspired by Jeremiah 29

In a statement, the university said that inspired by the call in Jeremiah 29 to “seek the peace and prosperity of the city,” the newly named Stoltz School of Business reflects Northwestern’s “UNWavering” conviction that followers of Christ are not called to retreat from culture, but to step into it with wisdom, humility, and purpose.

“The Stoltzes have long demonstrated a deep commitment to their faith, their family, and their city,” the university said. “Their gift to Northwestern reflects a desire to invest in the economic and spiritual flourishing of the Twin Cities and beyond. Dan’s passion for business, paired with a conviction that leadership must be rooted in high ethics and service to others, helped shape the vision for Northwestern’s business school of preparing leaders who are willing to give of themselves for the good of those around them.”

‘Epitomize the Mission’

“Dan and Robin epitomize both the mission of Northwestern and servant leadership in our community,” UNW President Corbin Hoornbeek said in a statement.  “The best philanthropy comes from the heart, and this gift from the Stoltzes certainly displays their passion not only for UNW, but also for our students who will go into the business world as the next generation of Christian leaders.”

With enrollment open for this fall, the university said the vision for the Stoltz School of Business is that it will become the premier center for teaching Christian business ethics, servant leadership, innovation, and a deep understanding of how faith transforms our communities.
