Following Merger, Texas Trust Opens First Branch in Fort Worth

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Trust Credit Union has opened its first location in Fort Worth following a merger with Family 1st Credit Union.

The branch, which is being updated and branded under the Texas Trust banner, is located at 3501 Western Center Blvd, the credit union said.

Through the merger, Texas Trust gained roughly $22 million in assets, and a branch to conveniently serve its Fort Worth membership of 30,000. Members of Family 1st are now part of the Texas Trust family, giving them access to more “robust financial services and products to help them build brighter financial futures.”

“This merger benefits the members of Family 1st and enables us to expand our footprint into Fort Worth, giving us a convenient location for our members who live in this fast-growing area of Tarrant County,” Jim Minge, CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union, said in a statement.

Family 1st Credit Union served public service employees, primarily those working for the U.S. Postal Service. Employees of Family 1st have new roles within Texas Trust. Several will remain at the Fort Worth location, while others have taken on roles in the Texas Trust corporate office in Arlington.

Minge added in a statement, “Our branch network is a core part of our ability to connect and serve our members. We will be an active part of this area and look forward to contributing to the surrounding community this branch serves.”
