Former CU Employee Pleads Guilty to Theft of More than $40,000

MASON CITY, Iowa – A former credit union employee has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $40,000.

Casey Dameron Servantez, 45, of Mason City, pleaded guilty to first-degree theft. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15 in Cerro Gordo County District Court, according to KIMT.

The news outlet reported law enforcement said Servantez cut numerous checks from escrow accounts at CENT Credit Union while working there between May 2023 and January 2025. Investigators said Servantez stole roughly $42,957 for her own personal use.
