BURBANK, Calif.–Gain FCU has become the latest credit union to announce a data breach, with law firms already lining up and soliciting potential plaintiffs.
The $441-million About Gain Federal Credit Union is reporting that on Oct. 20, 2025, it discovered unusual activity in a user’s email account.

“An investigation involving forensic and legal experts determined that an unauthorized party had gained access to the account,” according to a statement by GFCU that was cited by ClaimDepot.com. “Upon discovery, the credit union interrupted access and launched a comprehensive internal review, also notifying the appropriate authorities.”
Gain Federal Credit Union reported the incident to the California and New Hampshire state attorney general offices as well as the Massachusetts OCABR in early February 2026.
What Was Exposed
The number of affected individuals reported so far includes 11 in Massachusetts and two in New Hampshire, the credit union said, confirming that the breach exposed sensitive information belonging to members that included names, addresses, account numbers, financial and loan information, driver’s license data, Social Security numbers and more.
Gain Federal Credit Union is offering support through IDX at 888-201-2057, where representatives can answer questions and provide additional guidance, according to ClaimDepot, which also announced that members may be entitled to compensation.
