SEATTLE–The picturesque Golf Club at Newcastle in Washington hosted more than 100 players for the Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament. The day, filled with spirited competition and camaraderie, concluded with an impressive $100,000 raised for Washington nonprofits, the credit union said.
The Global Credit Union Foundation hosts the tournament annually to bring together business partners, credit union leaders and volunteers, and the community to support Foundation nonprofit partners.
“The generosity of the people and businesses in our communities really shines through at events like this,” said Geoff Lundfelt, president of the Global Credit Union Foundation. “The impact of our tournament sponsors and the Global employees who volunteered their time cannot be overstated. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible day and for making a major contribution to the nonprofits we support.”
The Fiher House Foundation received $50,000 in support of their mission to provide a home away from home for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers.
A similar amount was also given to Make-a-Wish Alaska and Washington, whose mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
