BILOXI, Miss., — Keesler Federal Credit Union is reporting it sent representatives directly to a number of airports to offer its Paycheck Relief directly to federal TSA employees who have now gone without paychecks for more than a month.
The missing pay is the result of the partial government shutdown that began in February for the Department of Homeland Security, of which TSA is a part.

The $5.1-billion Keesler said in a statement it sent officials directly to airports across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to offer the Paycheck Relief program directly to the workers.
“Through Paycheck Relief, Keesler Federal advances the amount of direct deposit pay checks for eligible federal employees, helping to ensure affected employees can continue meeting their financial obligations until normal pay resumes when the shutdown ends,” the credit union said in a statement.
No Charge to Participate
Keesler FCU further said there is no charge or fee to participate in Paycheck Relief. For those who were not at an airport to meet with a KFCU employee, it said members can sign up in-person or via its website.
TSA employees who are not current Keesler Federal members can enroll immediately by sharing proof of direct deposit from their last three paychecks, Keesler FCU said, adding that once enrolled, a member will be eligible for ongoing payroll deposits up to a maximum of 90 days.
“This government shutdown has placed an unexpected burden on thousands of federal employees and their families,” Chief Operations Officer Joshua Brown said in a statement. “Our focus is to be there for the people in our communities and help ease some of the financial pressure during this difficult time.”

Once the shutdown is concluded and the member receives backpay, Keesler FCU said it will automatically debit the advanced payroll from the account.
Earlier Efforts
During the late 2025 government shutdown, which lasted 47 days, the credit union said it advanced more than 5,000 paychecks to more than 1,700 members totaling $6.5 million.
Keesler Federal has more than 380,000 members.
