ABBEVILLE, S.C. – As summer winds down and college campuses gear up to welcome a new class of dreamers, HopeSouth Credit Union said it proudly celebrates four standout students with scholarships who recognize more than just grades –they honor grit, hope, and heart.
This year’s HopeSouth Scholarship recipients are:
- Emma Carolina Horne – Abbeville High School, attending Clemson University
- Raynais Williams – Calhoun Falls Charter High School, attending the University of South Carolina
- Ryleigh Nell Ware – Dixie High School, attending Lander University
In addition, the Roger Mark Hall Memorial Scholarship, awarded in memory of a beloved community leader, was presented to London Brodie Johnson of Calhoun Falls Charter High School, who will also attend Lander University.
Together, these students represent the heart of Abbeville County – ready to take on new challenges, explore new ideas, and make their mark, the credit union said.
“Back-to-school season is always powerful – it’s a time of transition, reflection, and growth,” said Faye Crocker, CEO of HopeSouth Federal Credit Union. “For us, it’s also a reminder of our role: to be more than a credit union. We’re a partner in people’s lives, especially at the moments that matter most. And we couldn’t be prouder to support these four remarkable students.”
Since 2008, HopeSouth has awarded $48,250 in scholarships to local students.
