In Shape for a Virtual 5K? Here’s How to Participate & Do Good at the Same Time

ST. CLOUD, Minn.–The TriUnity Foundation, which is overseen by St. Cloud FCU, said it will host a virtual 5k in the Fall to help raise funds to support the foundation’s mission of helping eliminate the debt for those facing terminal illness.

The virtual 5k, the “TriUnity Torch Challenge: Carry the Torch. Ignite the Mission.,” allows participants from across the country to join and participate in completing a 5k regardless of when and where they are located, the foundation said.

The TriUnity Torch Challenge will begin Oct. 1 and will run through Nov. 30, giving participants a window of time to complete the 5k, it added.

‘Unified Movement’

“TriUnity Foundation was launched by credit unions — and remains powered by them — as a movement to deliver on the industry’s founding promise of people helping people,” the foundation said. “By bringing together credit unions, their members and communities at large, the TriUnity Torch Challenge underscores how a unified movement can deliver critical relief when it matters most.”

Added LeAnn Case, board chair of the TriUnity Foundation, in a statement, “TriUnity lives up to our name by bringing people together for a common purpose. With the TriUnity Torch Challenge, runners, walkers and supporters nationwide unite in solidarity to ease financial burdens for those with a terminal illness. Every step we take as one community lights the way to hope, healing and strength—for participants, for families, and for the movement we’re building together.”

$40 Registration

Registration for the TriUnity Torch Challenge is $40 and will include a shirt and medal shipped to the participants. To sign up, click here

The foundation recommended that in order to guarantee a delivery of the shirt by Oct. 1, participants should register by the end of August. If registrations are made after the end of August, the shirt and medal may arrive a bit delayed, the organization added.
