AUSTIN, Texas — A credit union here opted not to cry tears but instead to add some flavor after an error in a paint job brought it some attention.
A curb facing a parking space at Travis County Credit Union was painted “Credit Onion” after contractors made a mistake. That brought coverage by CBS Austin.
“Yes, we can confirm the brief but memorable ‘Travis County Credit Onion’ saga sprouted outside our building,” TCCU President and CEO Alicia Quezada said in a statement to the news outlet. “While we do enjoy helping members peel back the layers of their finances, the curb paint was never meant to take that quite so literally.”
The credit union reported that the typo was spotted and fixed on the same day.
