Just in Time for Summer, CU Intro’s ‘Purpose-Driven Beer’

WILMINGTON, N.C.–What might be the first “purpose-driven beer” co-created by a credit union has debuted at local taps here.

REV Federal Credit Union is reporting it joined with local favorite Mad Mole Brewing to launch “Hops for Good,” which it described as a “crisp, refreshing lager brewed with fresh oranges—crafted to give back to the community.”

According to REV FCU, the collaboration began as a tasting session that led to selecting the “perfect beer profile, brewing, and packaging the final product.” It said REV team members, including CEO Jason Lee, “rolled up their sleeves to assist with canning, labeling, and packing the first batches of this purpose-driven beer.”
Hops for Good officially debuted at the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Biz Mix. the community networking event was sponsored by REV and held at Mad Mole Brewing.

‘Creative’ Collaboration
“REV looks for ways to increase community impact in creative ways, and this collaboration hits all the right notes—supporting small business, raising money for the #Up The Good Foundation, and bringing people together,” Dori Bishara, community engagement coordinator for REV, said in a statement.

The credit union said beer lovers can find Hops for Good on tap and for sale at Mad Mole Brewing and it was also a featured beer at the REV Rocks Concert Series at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater.
All proceeds went to benefit REV’s charitable arm, the #Up The Good Foundation, which funds initiatives aimed at empowering and uplifting communities across the region.
