Kitsap CU Names Jason Pendergist as New SVP-Credit & Lending

BREMERTON, Wash.–Kitsap Credit Union has named Jason Pendergist as its new SVP-credit and lending. 

Pendergist brings over 25 years of experience in financial services, with a proven track record in driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and innovative lending solutions, the credit union said. 

In his new role, Pendergist will oversee all aspects of credit and lending at Kitsap Credit Union, including consumer, real estate, and commercial lending. His leadership will be pivotal in advancing the credit union’s strategic initiatives, enhancing the member experience, and expanding lending capabilities across the region.

“Throughout his career, Jason has modernized lending operations, led digital transformations, and built member-focused product strategies. He is also a recognized thought leader in AI and data-driven decisioning, serving on advisory boards for fintech innovators such as Zest AI and Enable,” Kitsap CU stated.

Pendergist most recently served as chief lending officer and head of marketing at Kinecta Federal Credit Union, a $6.5 billion institution based in Southern California. There, he led a 165-person team across consumer, real estate, and commercial lending, as well as collections, servicing, and marketing. His tenure was marked by transformative initiatives, including implementing AI-driven underwriting models, modernizing loan origination systems, and streamlining operational efficiencies to reduce cycle times and delinquency rates, the creditunion said.

His previous leadership roles include positions at JPMorgan Chase, Banc of California, Luther Burbank Savings, and Security Service Federal Credit Union. Pendergist holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado.
