Kohler CU Announces 2 Personnel Moves

SHEBOYGAN, Wis.–Kohler Credit Union has announced two personal moves.

Raeann Freund has been the Senior Vice President of Retail. In this role, Freund will oversee the operations and performance of the credit union’s retail branches, ensuring members receive exceptional service and innovative solutions tailored to their financial needs. Additionally, Freund will collaborate with the investment and retirement services teams to deliver a seamless and comprehensive member experience, the credit union said. 

With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, Freund brings a wealth of knowledge in branch operations, team leadership, and member engagement. She has a proven track record of driving operational excellence and fostering growth in retail banking environments.

“I am thrilled to embrace this new role and continue serving Kohler Credit Union and its membership.” said Freund. “I am dedicated to guiding our efforts to achieve an exceptional experience for our members through my leadership.”

In addition, Deniss Makejenko has been named Chief Lending Officer. In his new role, Makejenko will lead the credit union’s lending strategy and operations, with a strong commitment to meeting our members’ financial needs and supporting them throughout every stage of life.

“I am honored to take on the role of Chief Lending Officer at Kohler Credit Union,” says Makejenko. “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about serving members and building strong, capable teams. In this new position, I will focus on bringing a service-first mindset to our sales approach and developing our team into a best-in-class sales organization that delivers consistent value to our members.”

Makejenko joined Kohler Credit Union in 2021 as Senior Vice President of Branch Operations and has been instrumental in promoting a culture centered on development, collaboration, and action. Most recently, he served as Chief Retail Officer, where his leadership played a key role in enhancing member service and elevating team engagement across the organization. 

Makejenko holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and an MBA from Marquette University. Earlier this year, he earned the designation of Certified Chief Executive (CCE) after completing a rigorous three-year program, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence in the credit union industry.
