MIRAMAR, Fla. –– Tropical Financial Credit Union (TFCU) has named Lourdes Rey-Wilson as human resources director, strengthening the organization’s people-first culture and commitment to operational excellence.
The credit union said Rey-Wilson is an award-winning HR executive with extensive experience leading HR strategy within the financial services industry.

In her role at Tropical Financial Credit Union, she oversees all aspects of human resources, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance with labor and employment regulations. She works closely with executive leadership to align strategies with organizational goals while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
“Lourdes brings a rare combination of strategic insight, hands-on leadership, and deep financial services expertise,” President and CEO Rick Shaw said in a statement. “Her proven ability to develop talent, guide organizations through change, and support executive leadership makes her an outstanding addition to our team.”
Before joining Tropical Financial Credit Union, Rey-Wilson served as Director of Human Resources and SPV for United Community Bank, where she supported corporate HR initiatives and partnered closely with business leaders across Florida. Before that, she spent several years as Director of Human Resources and Executive Vice President at First National Bank of South Miami, where she played a key role in the bank’s acquisition by United Community Bank and led HR efforts through due diligence and post-merger integration
Earlier in her career, Rey-Wilson spent nearly two decades as Director of Human Resources and Executive Vice President at TotalBank (acquired by City National Bank).

Rey-Wilson graduated with a BS degree from Florida International University and holds an HR Administration Certification from the school. She also holds a Certificate in Banking from the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and has been widely recognized for excellence and leadership in human resources throughout South Florida.
