Mary VendorsNamed Board Chair of Louisiana Corporate

METAIRIE, La.–Louisiana Corporate Credit Union said Wymar Federal Credit Union EVP/CFO Mary Vedros has been named as its new board chair.

Vedros brings more than 35 years of credit union experience to the leadership role. She previously served as CEO of Total Choice Federal Credit Union in St. Charles Parish and has been an active member of LaCorp’s board for several years, most recently serving as vice chair.

“Working in tandem with the rest of the board and with David, ensuring we’re on the right path, is essential,” Vedros said. “In this time of economic uncertainty, we need to be there as partners for credit unions across the state. That’s my goal: just to be there for them, to work as strong partners and to support whatever they need from us.”

Vedros succeeds Mark Rosa, whose credit union merged with Keesler Federal Credit Union earlier this year. Throughout her tenure on the board, Vedros has been instrumental in understanding member needs and supporting LaCorp’s mission to serve natural person credit unions across the state.

“Mary exemplifies the collaborative spirit and member-focused dedication that defines LaCorp,” LaCorp President/CEO David Savoie said. “Her deep operational experience, strategic insight and genuine passion for the credit union movement make her an outstanding choice to lead our board. Her leadership will be invaluable as we continue supporting the nation’s credit unions through whatever challenges lie ahead.”

Under Vedros’ leadership, the board will continue focusing on providing exceptional service and supporting member credit unions’ liquidity and operational needs. LaCorp has recently seen significant growth in its member services, including a substantial increase in its investment program for natural person credit unions.

“Louisiana Corporate is special because of the time they take to really serve their member credit unions,” Vedros said. “The level of service that every employee gives us, the immediate help, the accuracy, the collaborative work, I know I can depend on it. That’s so important.”
