NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.–During its annual convention, CONNECT 2025, the MD|DC Credit Union Association marked its 20th anniversary by sharing a video it said reflected a “journey that began with a pivotal decision in 2005.”
That year, the boards of the then Maryland and DC Credit Union leagues voted to merge, “successfully establishing the nation’s first regional credit union association with a shared vision of building a stronger, more unified organization for long-term credit union success,” the organization said.
‘Catalyst for Success’
“For 20 years, the MD|DC Credit Union Association has been a catalyst for credit union success, building connections with members, policymakers, business partners and community organizations,” President and CEO John Bratsakis said in a statement. “Our foundation is, and always has been, built on strong relationships and collaborative opportunities that help our credit unions to grow and thrive.”
